Denial of Death
Introduction: Death is inevitable, yet acceptance is not always immediate. This poem explores the human struggle of letting go, of resisting the finality of an ending we refuse to believe in. In shadows deep, where silence stays, A heart denies the fading flame. Through fleeting time and fractured ways, It fights against the reaper’s claim. A lover’s voice, both sharp and sweet, Echoes where sorrow dares to tread. Between the promise and defeat, They chase a life not truly dead. The past becomes a ghostly chain Yet longing keeps the spirit whole. Through every whisper, love remains A battle waged within the soul. They guard the breath that tries to cease With trembling hope and fragile vow. No final rest, no quiet peace The heart resists, but wonders how. The line grows thin, both bright and cold As time demands its heavy toll Yet love, defiant, takes its hold To bind the body to the soul....
