Moon’s Unspoken Verse
Introduction: The moon has always been a symbol of mystery, solitude, and reflection. It watches over us, unchanging yet ever-changing. We find ourselves in its quiet glow, as if it understands what we cannot say. This poem explores the moon as a mirror—of our emotions, thoughts, and the silence within.
The moon and I, we often meet,
In whispered nights so still, so sweet.
A silver eye, so calm, so wide,
Reflecting truths I wish to hide.
It sees the scars I keep inside,
The silent wars, the tears denied.
It shines, yet holds no voice to say,
The secrets left from yesterday.
It watches love that fades too fast,
The dreams that slip but never last.
Yet in its glow, it seems to show,
That endings lead to what we grow.
It knows the weight of words unsaid,
The aching heart, the heavy tread.
It paints the sky in silver hue,
A mirror bright, yet distant too.
I ask it why it seems so cold,
Why stories fade, yet stars stay old.
It smiles through clouds and whispers low,
"Not all must speak for truth to flow."
The moon and I, we dance, we talk,
It follows close where'er I walk.
Yet just like dreams, it's out of reach,
A lesson silent moons still teach.
It waxes full, then wanes away,
Yet never truly goes astray.
Like fleeting joys, like sorrows deep,
It comes, it goes, yet secrets keep.
I wonder if it feels alone,
A king upon a silver throne.
A witness to the endless night,
Yet never bathed in morning light.
Does it grow tired of endless skies,
Of hearing prayers and lovers’ sighs?
Does it not long for voice or song,
Or has it known silence all along?
It does not speak, it does not cry,
Yet answers lie within the sky.
For what we seek, what sets us free,
Is found in silence—found in me.
Reflections: The moon is more than just a celestial body—it is a companion in silence, a mirror of our emotions. Perhaps we find comfort in it because, like us, it shines even in the dark. Next time you look at the moon, don’t just see it—listen. It might just be telling your story too.
Why do we feel connected to things that never speak back—like the moon, the stars, or the sea? Do we seek answers from the moon, or do we find what we already know within ourselves? If the moon could whisper one truth to you, what do you think it would say?
