Stars That Never Aligned

Introduction: Not every love story gets the ending it deserves. Some remain unfinished, lingering in the space between what was and what could have been. This poem mourns a love that was written in the stars but never quite met its fate.

In twilight’s gentle, wistful glow,
Two hearts conceal a tender woe;
Bound by love that dares not speak,
While distant kin forbid we meet.

Our souls are entwined in secret fire,
Yearning to quench forbidden desire;
Yet ancient ties, like iron chains,
Bind our dreams with silent pains.

Beneath the stars’ soft, silver light,
I cradle hope throughout the night;
Each whispered thought becomes a plea
That someday soon our fates break free.

I wander through the halls of old,
Recalling vows of passion told;
Though duty’s call and family’s law
Keep us apart with bitter flaw.

In every tear that dares to fall,
A spark of hope defies them all;
For in my heart, though worlds divide,
Our love remains a trusted guide.

In dreams, we meet beyond the strife,
Where shadows yield to joyful life;
Though harsh reality may conspire,
Our secret bond ignites a fire.

For every moment spent apart
Is etched forever in my heart;
Though destiny may seem unclear,
I hold our hope forever near.

So let the fates devise their plan,
While we, as one, defy their span;
For though the world may keep us blind,
Our love endures, so far yet kind;
A constant flame that never veers,
So far, yet ever, oh so near.
